look I'm a huge Conan fan, but the organized grit that he brings to the table I feel best fits a urban Biker look. I would love to read/invest my time into his story telling of a biker gang! That's just me!
I voted Conan, but I'd love, love, love to see Fafhrd & the Gray Mouser done in an Urban Fantasy Setting (Joss Whedon, Hellboy, Dresden, etc). Modern reinterpretation/adaptation of the original stories.
Chaykin and Mignola did the old one's too perfectly, so modern or cyberpunk urban fantasy.
I'm thinking it sounds more like a zombie scenario centered on a big muscled 6 foot+ guy of nordic ancestry set in someplace like Los Angeles. Nice enought guy, probably saves a person now and then, but really gets into the thrill of the zombie hunting.
I'd say all of the above, really, though I checked off the biker one despite my love for sword and sorcery.
Let's quote Alan on this one: "Life isn’t divided into genres. It’s a horrifying, romantic, tragic, comical, science-fiction cowboy detective novel. You know, with a bit of pornography if you're lucky."
So, let's see barbarian bikers in a Western investigating a murder in Vegas-style city populated by decadent sorcerers.
